 reports, 1d 15h agoDaily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. It's just that when using common kitschy elements (like shells, Elvis, horses etc.) in paintings its hard not to harken back to the millions of other interpretations that have been witnessed before ad nauseam. And I understand this is an intentional aim for some artists, but am pretty sure it wasn't for you. The painting really is lovely as always Alison, its just a peeve and I figured you wouldn't mind the honesty.
An old Professor of mine (Morris Yarowsky) once told me and a host of other Art School idiots that "no one will paint a cat in my class". He never elaborated, but as the term went on it became obvious as we experimented beyond our comfort zones.
